About

FT Physio is run by experienced Physiotherapist Felicity Thow and is based within the West Road Chiropody Centre in Denton Burn.

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2009 and have worked in both the NHS and private practice as a musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. Between 2013 and 2016 I worked in Wellington, New Zealand but now I’m proud to run this clinic in the West end of my home town Newcastle upon Tyne.

I have worked with a variety of sports teams including Wellington College’s First XV in New Zealand, England Women’s and Girls’ Indoor Cricket Squad, Netball Superleague’s Team Northumbria and Tynedale Rugby Club. However, don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from Physiotherapy though and my real passion lies in persistent (chronic) pain, for which I achieved a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction in Pain Management from Cardiff University in 2019.

I also work as part of the Flippin’ Pain public health campaign that is aimed to flip the way we think about, talk about and treat persistent/chronic pain.

Whether a recent injury is getting in the way of doing what you love or your pain is persistent and you’ve only been able to find temporary relief so far, I promote forward-thinking, person-centred Physiotherapy that aims to get you back to the things that make you, you.

Human beings are resilient and adaptable and good Physiotherapy should be mindful of this.

I offer a thorough assessment, an explanation for the cause of your pain and scientifically-based treatment that will be discussed with you and regularly re-evaluated to make sure you are making the progress you expect.

FT Physio – helping you get back to doing what you love.
